Good morning ☀️, leader of the next generation.
Sometimes we give technology too much credit or too much blame.
The truth is, it’s a tool. How we use it is what matters.
Used with purpose, it helps us see more clearly, build faster, and express ourselves in new ways.
It’s not about chasing trends. It’s about creating something real.

TIME recognizes AI leaders as collective Person of Year
TIME names 'Architects of AI' its Person of the Year
TIME Magazine has broken tradition by naming a collective group as its 2025 Person of the Year: the "Architects of AI." This unprecedented decision recognizes the tech leaders who have fundamentally transformed our world through artificial intelligence development and deployment.
The prestigious annual award typically honors a single individual who has most influenced global events, whether positively or negatively. Previous recipients include Donald Trump (twice), Taylor Swift, and even Adolf Hitler in 1938. This year marks a departure from that tradition, acknowledging that AI's revolutionary impact stems from collaborative efforts rather than individual achievement.
According to TIME's announcement, the honored group includes some of the most powerful figures in technology: Nvidia's Jensen Huang, Tesla's Elon Musk, OpenAI's Sam Altman, Meta's Mark Zuckerberg, AMD's Lisa Su, Anthropic's Dario Amodei, Google DeepMind's Demis Hassabis, and World Labs' Fei-Fei Li. These leaders have "raced both beside and against each other" in what TIME describes as one of history's most significant technological competitions.
The magazine emphasizes how 2025 became a pivotal year for AI adoption. "For decades, humankind steeled itself for the rise of thinking machines," TIME wrote. Previously, many of these same leaders, including Altman and Musk, warned about AI's potential for "unforeseen catastrophe." However, this year witnessed a dramatic shift: "the debate about how to wield AI responsibly gave way to a sprint to deploy it as fast as possible."
This acceleration reflects broader public sentiment. Recent Edelman data reveals that while AI embodies hope for a small minority, it generates economic anxiety for the majority of people. The technology has become a double-edged sword, promising unprecedented capabilities while raising concerns about job displacement and societal disruption.
TIME's recognition highlights the massive scale of investment these leaders have orchestrated. Their multibillion-dollar commitments represent "one of the biggest physical infrastructure projects of all time," fundamentally reshaping not just technology but entire industries. The ripple effects extend far beyond Silicon Valley, influencing government policy decisions and intensifying geopolitical competition between nations.
The magazine draws a striking historical parallel, describing AI as "arguably the most consequential tool in great-power competition since the advent of nuclear weapons." This comparison underscores the strategic importance these technologies have assumed in international relations and national security considerations.
Beyond geopolitics, these AI architects have transformed multiple aspects of daily life. Their decisions are "reshaping the information landscape, the climate, and our livelihoods," according to TIME's coverage. From how we access information to environmental impacts of massive data centers, AI development touches virtually every sector of society.
The selection process wasn't without intrigue. While TIME officially announced the decision Thursday morning, images of the cover photo leaked on the prediction market Polymarket the evening before, generating early buzz and speculation about the choice.
This collective recognition reflects AI's unique nature as a transformative force requiring unprecedented collaboration and competition simultaneously. Unlike previous technological revolutions driven by individual inventors or single companies, AI's development has emerged from a complex ecosystem of competing yet interdependent organizations.
The "Architects of AI" designation acknowledges that these leaders haven't merely created products—they've constructed the foundation for a new technological era. Their combined efforts have accelerated humanity into an age where artificial intelligence influences everything from creative expression to scientific discovery, economic systems to social interactions.

Port raises $100M at $800M valuation to take on Spotify's Backstage
Israeli startup Port secures $100M to challenge Spotify's developer platform.
While Spotify dominates music streaming, its open-source developer tool Backstage has become wildly popular among companies building internal developer portals. Israeli startup Port is challenging this space with a proprietary alternative that's now expanding into AI agent management.
Port announced a $100 million Series C round led by General Atlantic, with participation from Accel, Bessemer Venture Partners, and Team8. The funding values the 2022-founded company at $800 million and brings total funding to $158 million, following a $35 million Series B in May.
The startup has attracted major clients including GitHub, British Telecom, and LG with its developer tool portal that goes beyond Backstage's build-it-yourself approach. Port offers a ready-to-use solution for cataloging developer tools, visualizing work metrics, and now managing AI agents.
According to CEO Zohar Einy, developers want AI to handle more than just coding tasks like incident resolution, security issues, and release management. However, the current landscape resembles the "Wild West" with scattered data sources, lack of collaboration between agents, and no corporate standards or guardrails creating chaos.
Port addresses these challenges through orchestration features that measure agent performance and enable human oversight in approval processes. A key feature called "context lake" defines data sources, memory, and guardrails for agents, managing what they need to know for safe and correct operation.
The platform allows developers to catalog existing agents, create new ones, and access Port's ready-made agents for tasks like help desk ticket resolution and provisioning. Einy describes the product as handling the 90% of software development work that isn't writing code, providing engineers with interfaces to control and iterate with agents.
Despite its impressive funding and high-profile customers, Port faces intense competition in the crowded agentic management space from companies including LangChain, UiPath, and Cortex, each approaching the emerging challenges from different angles.
