Good morning ☀️, leader of the next generation.

Sometimes we give technology too much credit or too much blame.

The truth is, it’s a tool. How we use it is what matters.

Used with purpose, it helps us see more clearly, build faster, and express ourselves in new ways.

It’s not about chasing trends. It’s about creating something real.

PayPal enables direct shopping payments within ChatGPT starting 2026

PayPal partners with OpenAI to let users pay for their shopping within ChatGPT

PayPal announced Tuesday a groundbreaking partnership with OpenAI that will revolutionize how users shop and pay online. Starting in 2026, customers will be able to complete purchases directly within ChatGPT without ever leaving the AI platform, marking a significant shift in e-commerce integration.

The collaboration centers on PayPal's adoption of the Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP), an open-source framework developed by OpenAI. This protocol enables merchants to seamlessly integrate their product catalogs within AI applications, allowing users to shop using intelligent AI agents. Combined with OpenAI's "Instant Checkout" feature, launched in September, customers can now confirm orders, verify shipping details, and complete payments entirely within the ChatGPT interface.

Users will have the convenience of paying through their PayPal wallets, ensuring access to the company's comprehensive buyer and seller protection programs, along with established dispute resolution services. Additionally, PayPal is providing specialized technology to process card payments directly within ChatGPT through a dedicated payments API, offering customers multiple payment options.

The integration promises significant benefits for merchants using PayPal's services. Their products will become discoverable within ChatGPT across key categories including apparel, fashion, beauty, home improvement, and electronics. Importantly, merchants won't need to develop custom integrations – PayPal will manage all merchant routing and payment processing behind the scenes, simplifying the adoption process.

To support this initiative, PayPal is launching a comprehensive agentic commerce suite. This toolkit will enable merchants to showcase their product catalogs across various AI applications, accept payments seamlessly within different AI platforms, and gain valuable insights into consumer shopping behaviors and preferences.

This OpenAI partnership represents PayPal's broader strategic initiative to embed itself within AI-powered shopping ecosystems. As consumers increasingly rely on AI applications for daily tasks, including product discovery and shopping, PayPal is positioning itself as the preferred payment solution across multiple platforms.

The company's AI commerce strategy gained momentum earlier this year with a May partnership with Perplexity, enabling checkout capabilities within the AI search platform. In September, PayPal further expanded its AI presence by adopting Google's Agent Payments Protocol, integrating its services across various Google products and services.

Beyond commerce integration, the OpenAI partnership extends to internal operations. PayPal is providing enterprise access to ChatGPT for all employees and enabling its engineering teams to leverage OpenAI's advanced coding tools, including Codex, to enhance development capabilities and productivity.

"Hundreds of millions of people turn to ChatGPT each week for help with everyday tasks, including finding products they love, and over 400 million use PayPal to shop," explained Alex Chriss, PayPal's president and CEO. He emphasized that the partnership with OpenAI and adoption of the Agentic Commerce Protocol will create seamless payment and commerce experiences, enabling customers to "go from chat to checkout in just a few taps."

This collaboration signals a significant evolution in digital commerce, where AI assistants become integrated shopping platforms rather than simple recommendation tools. By 2026, ChatGPT users may find themselves completing entire shopping journeys – from product discovery to final purchase – without ever leaving their conversation with the AI assistant, fundamentally changing how we think about online shopping experiences.

⚡ Trends for the Future

Zoom CEO Eric Yuan says AI will shorten our workweek

Zoom CEO predicts AI assistants will enable three-day workweeks.

Zoom founder and CEO Eric Yuan envisions a future where artificial intelligence transforms the workplace so dramatically that employees will only need to work three to four days per week. Speaking at the TechCrunch Disrupt 2025 conference, Yuan outlined his ambitious vision for AI-powered productivity tools that could revolutionize how we approach work.

Yuan has already begun demonstrating this technology firsthand, using his AI avatar during an earnings call with investors earlier this year. This "digital twin" feature allows an AI representation to speak on behalf of users, pushing what Yuan describes as the "boundaries of communication" in videoconferencing.

The Zoom CEO's investment strategy reflects his commitment to this AI-driven future. When asked about his priorities, Yuan simply responded, "AI, AI, and AI." The company dedicates multi-hour strategy meetings to exploring AI's potential to transform work processes across their platform.

Beyond video conferencing, Yuan sees numerous applications for AI companions in business settings. He described a scenario where two executives negotiating a contract could send their digital twins to collaborate on preliminary work, streamlining the negotiation process. This approach could significantly reduce the time executives spend on routine discussions.

Yuan also highlighted AI's potential to revolutionize email management, suggesting that AI assistants could automatically review messages, identify priorities, and determine which communications require human responses. This automation could free workers from time-consuming administrative tasks.

The vision extends to Zoom's broader suite of tools, including online whiteboards and collaborative documents. Yuan believes AI integration across these platforms will eliminate the manual effort currently required to manage multiple work applications.

"Today, I need to manually focus on all those products to get work done. Eventually, AI will help," Yuan explained. His ultimate goal is clear: "Five years out, three days or four days [a week]. That's a goal."
