Good morning ☀️, leader of the next generation.

I believe this: Technology, when used with intention, doesn’t distract us — it awakens us.

It shows us who we are. What we can build. How far we can go. It strips away the noise and gives us tools that let our natural genius come through.

That we stop waiting for the world to hand us permission — and we start using the tools already in our hands to create, to express, to become.

This is not about keeping up. It’s about breaking through.

Salesforce launches enhanced AI platform amid growing enterprise competition

Salesforce announces Agentforce 360 as enterprise AI competition heats up

title image

Salesforce unveiled its enhanced AI agent platform, Agentforce 360, on Monday as part of its strategy to attract enterprise customers in the increasingly competitive artificial intelligence market. The announcement precedes the company's annual Dreamforce conference starting October 14.

The updated platform introduces several key features designed to make AI agents more flexible and user-friendly. Central to these improvements is Agent Script, a new prompting tool set for beta release in November. This feature enables users to program AI agents with greater adaptability, particularly for handling complex "if/then" scenarios and unpredictable customer interactions.

Agent Script leverages "reasoning" models that claim to process information before responding, rather than simply relying on pattern recognition. These advanced agents are powered by leading AI providers including Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google Gemini, offering enterprises access to cutting-edge artificial intelligence capabilities.

Alongside Agent Script, Salesforce is launching Agentforce Builder, a comprehensive tool that allows users to create, test, and deploy AI agents from a single platform. This streamlined approach includes Agentforce Vibes, an enterprise-grade app development tool the company introduced earlier this month. The Builder tool will also enter beta testing in November.

The company is significantly expanding integration between Agentforce and its messaging platform Slack. Core Salesforce applications, including Agentforce Sales, IT, and HR modules, will appear directly within Slack starting this month, with full rollout expected by early 2026.

Slack itself is receiving substantial upgrades, including a revamped Slackbot chatbot designed to function as a personalized AI agent. This enhanced version will learn user preferences and provide tailored insights and recommendations. Salesforce envisions Slack evolving into a comprehensive enterprise search tool, with planned connectors to Gmail, Outlook, and Dropbox launching in early 2026.

The timing of this announcement reflects the intense competition in the enterprise AI space. While companies continue rolling out AI features for business customers, many enterprises struggle to demonstrate clear return on investment from these technologies.

Recent competitor moves highlight this competitive landscape. Google launched Gemini Enterprise last week, offering a suite of enterprise-grade AI agent building tools with early adopters including Figma, Klarna, and Virgin Voyages. Meanwhile, Anthropic is gaining momentum with Claude Enterprise, recently securing a major contract with consulting firm Deloitte to serve 500,000 employees globally, followed by a strategic partnership with IBM.

Salesforce claims significant market leadership with Agentforce serving 12,000 customers, substantially more than competitors according to company statements. Early pilot customers testing Agentforce 360 features include major enterprises like Lennar, Adecco, and Pearson.

However, the enterprise AI market faces significant challenges. A recent MIT study revealed that 95% of enterprise AI pilots fail to reach production, highlighting ongoing difficulties companies face in justifying AI tool investments and achieving practical implementation.

Despite these industry-wide challenges, Salesforce's comprehensive approach with Agentforce 360 demonstrates the company's commitment to maintaining its position in the evolving enterprise AI landscape. The platform's emphasis on flexibility, integration, and user-friendly development tools positions it as a significant player in the race to deliver practical AI solutions for business environments.

AI researcher Andrew Tulloch has left Thinking Machines Lab, the startup co-founded with former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, to join Meta. Tulloch announced his departure on Friday, citing "personal reasons" according to a company spokesperson.

Earlier this year, Mark Zuckerberg reportedly attempted to acquire the entire startup and later offered Tulloch a massive compensation package potentially worth $1.5 billion over six years. Tulloch previously worked at both OpenAI and Facebook's AI Research Group before co-founding the promising AI startup.

California becomes first state to regulate AI companion chatbots

California enacts first-in-nation AI chatbot safety regulations protecting children.

California Governor Gavin Newsom signed groundbreaking legislation on Monday making California the first state to regulate AI companion chatbots. The new law, SB 243, requires AI chatbot operators to implement comprehensive safety protocols to protect children and vulnerable users from potential harms.

The legislation holds major companies like Meta, OpenAI, Character AI, and Replika legally accountable if their chatbots fail to meet safety standards. The bill was introduced by state senators Steve Padilla and Josh Becker following several tragic incidents, including the suicide of teenager Adam Raine after suicidal conversations with ChatGPT, and a Colorado family's lawsuit against Character AI after their 13-year-old daughter's death following problematic interactions with the platform.

"We've seen some truly horrific and tragic examples of young people harmed by unregulated tech, and we won't stand by while companies continue without necessary limits and accountability," Newsom stated. "Our children's safety is not for sale."

Effective January 1, 2026, SB 243 mandates several key requirements: age verification systems, clear warnings about AI-generated content, protocols for addressing suicide and self-harm, and break reminders for minors. Companies must also ensure chatbots don't represent themselves as healthcare professionals and prevent minors from viewing sexually explicit AI-generated content. The law establishes penalties up to $250,000 per offense for illegal deepfake violations.

Some companies have already begun implementing safeguards. OpenAI recently introduced parental controls and self-harm detection systems, while Replika has committed to compliance with the new regulations. Character AI welcomes working with regulators on the emerging legislation.

This marks California's second major AI regulation in recent weeks, following SB 53, which established transparency requirements for large AI companies. Other states like Illinois, Nevada, and Utah have also begun restricting AI chatbots in mental health contexts, signaling a growing national movement toward AI regulation.
