The Architecture Behind AI-Native Revenue Automation

In our new white paper, The Architecture Behind AI-Native Revenue Automation, Tabs CTO Deepak Bapat breaks down what it actually takes to apply AI to revenue workflows without breaking the books.

You’ll learn why probabilistic reasoning isn’t enough for finance, how Tabs pairs LLMs with deterministic logic, and why a unified Commercial Graph is the foundation for scalable, audit-ready automation. From contract interpretation to cash application, this paper goes deep on where AI belongsβ€”and where it absolutely doesn’t.

If you’re evaluating AI for billing, collections, or revenue operations, this is the architecture perspective most vendors won’t show you.

Good morning β˜€οΈ, leader of the next generation.

Technology is reshaping how the world works.

The real question is not what it can do β€” but how we choose to use it.

We focus on using technology to support human evolution.

Progress works when responsibility stays human.

OpenAI unveils GPT-5.4 with enhanced professional capabilities and reasoning

OpenAI launches GPT-5.4 with Pro and Thinking versions

title image

OpenAI has unveiled GPT-5.4, its most advanced AI model to date, specifically designed to excel in professional environments. Released on Thursday, the new foundation model comes in three distinct variants: the standard GPT-5.4, GPT-5.4 Pro for high-performance applications, and GPT-5.4 Thinking, which focuses on enhanced reasoning capabilities.

One of the most significant upgrades is the model's expanded context window, reaching an unprecedented 1 million tokens through the API. This massive increase allows the model to process and analyze substantially larger documents and datasets than any previous OpenAI release, making it particularly valuable for complex professional tasks.

The company has also achieved remarkable improvements in token efficiency, enabling GPT-5.4 to solve identical problems using significantly fewer tokens than its predecessor. This enhancement translates to faster processing times and reduced costs for users, addressing two critical concerns in enterprise AI deployment.

Performance benchmarks demonstrate GPT-5.4's superior capabilities across multiple domains. The model achieved record-breaking scores on computer use benchmarks OSWorld-Verified and WebArena Verified, while securing an impressive 83% on OpenAI's GDPval test, which evaluates knowledge work performance. Additionally, GPT-5.4 topped Mercor's APEX-Agents benchmark, specifically designed to assess professional skills in legal and financial sectors.

Brendan Foody, CEO of Mercor, praised the model's professional applications, stating that GPT-5.4 "excels at creating long-horizon deliverables such as slide decks, financial models, and legal analysis." He emphasized that the model delivers superior performance while operating faster and more cost-effectively than competing frontier models.

Addressing one of AI's persistent challenges, OpenAI has made substantial progress in reducing hallucinations and factual errors. GPT-5.4 demonstrates a 33% reduction in individual claim errors compared to GPT-5.2, while overall response accuracy improved by 18%. This enhancement is crucial for professional applications where accuracy is paramount.

The API version introduces Tool Search, a revolutionary system for managing tool calling. Previously, system prompts required complete tool definitions upfront, consuming excessive tokens as tool libraries expanded. The new system allows models to retrieve tool definitions on-demand, resulting in faster, more economical requests for systems utilizing multiple tools.

OpenAI has also addressed critical safety concerns surrounding reasoning models. AI safety researchers have long worried about models potentially misrepresenting their chain-of-thought processes – the step-by-step reasoning commentary that shows how models approach complex tasks. The company's new safety evaluation specifically tests for deceptive reasoning patterns.

The evaluation results are encouraging, showing that deception is less likely to occur in GPT-5.4 Thinking. According to OpenAI, this "suggests that the model lacks the ability to hide its reasoning and that chain-of-thought monitoring remains an effective safety tool." This transparency is essential for maintaining trust in AI systems handling sensitive professional work.

GPT-5.4's release represents a significant milestone in AI development, particularly for professional applications. The combination of expanded context windows, improved efficiency, enhanced accuracy, and robust safety measures positions it as a formidable tool for businesses seeking reliable AI assistance.

The three-tier approach – standard, Pro, and Thinking versions – allows organizations to select the configuration that best matches their specific needs and computational requirements. Whether handling routine tasks, demanding high-performance applications, or complex reasoning challenges, GPT-5.4 offers tailored solutions for diverse professional environments.

As AI continues to integrate into professional workflows, GPT-5.4's improvements in accuracy, efficiency, and safety represent crucial steps toward more reliable and trustworthy AI assistance in critical business applications.

Lio raises $30M from Andreessen Horowitz and others to automate enterprise procurement

Lio secures $30M Series A to automate enterprise procurement with AI agents.

Enterprise procurement has long been a frustrating bottleneck for businesses, requiring manual processes across multiple systems and extensive paperwork. Lio's founders experienced these pain points firsthand, both as corporate employees and while selling enterprise software to other companies.

Founded in 2023 by Vladimir Keil, Lukas Heinzmann, and Till Wagner, Lio has developed an AI-native platform that fundamentally reimagines procurement. Rather than simply helping humans work faster, the company deploys AI agents that execute entire procurement workflows autonomously.

The startup announced a $30 million Series A funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from SV Angels, Harry Stebbings, and Y Combinator. This brings Lio's total funding to $33 million since emerging from YC's Spring 2023 batch.

Traditional procurement involves opening ERP software, checking contract management systems, searching supplier databases, running compliance checks, cross-referencing budgets, and digging through countless emails. Even with modern eProcurement tools, most work remains manual, forcing companies to build large internal teams or outsource operations.

Lio's AI agents operate across enterprise systems to read documents, evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, and complete transactions. According to CEO Keil, processes that previously took weeks can now be completed in minutes. The platform is already helping companies manage billions in enterprise spending, with one global manufacturer automating 75% of its previously outsourced procurement operations within six months.

The fresh capital will fuel Lio's expansion across the United States and enhance its AI agents' capabilities. Keil believes this technology will transform procurement from a back-office function into a powerful lever for enterprise performance, allowing teams to focus on strategic negotiations and supplier analysis rather than paperwork processing.

Lio competes against legacy procurement software vendors like SAP Ariba and Oracle, as well as business process outsourcing providers and consulting firms that traditionally handle these operations for enterprises.
