Good morning ☀️, leader of the next generation.
I believe this: Technology, when used with intention, doesn’t distract us — it awakens us.
It shows us who we are. What we can build. How far we can go.
It strips away the noise and gives us tools that let our natural genius come through.
That we stop waiting for the world to hand us permission — and we start using the tools already in our hands to create, to express, to become.
This is not about keeping up.
It’s about breaking through.

OpenAI enters browser wars with AI-powered ChatGPT Atlas
OpenAI launches an AI-powered browser: ChatGPT Atlas

OpenAI has entered the competitive browser market with ChatGPT Atlas, an AI-powered web browser that represents the company's bold attempt to challenge Google's dominance in online information discovery. The announcement, made on Tuesday, signals a significant shift in how artificial intelligence is reshaping the way users interact with the internet.
Initially launching on macOS, ChatGPT Atlas will expand to Windows, iOS, and Android platforms in the coming months. Notably, OpenAI is making the browser available to all free users from day one, a strategic move that could accelerate adoption and help the company gain market share quickly.
The browser landscape has become the latest battlefield for AI companies, with traditional web browsing evolving into something more interactive and intelligent. While Google Chrome maintains its massive user base of over 3 billion people worldwide, emerging competitors like Perplexity's Comet and The Browser Company's Dia are pioneering new approaches to AI-integrated browsing.
According to Ben Goodger, OpenAI's Engineering Lead for Atlas, ChatGPT serves as the browser's central nervous system. Users can engage in conversations with their search results, similar to features found in Perplexity or Google's AI Mode, creating a more dynamic and interactive browsing experience.
The browser's standout feature is its integrated sidecar chatbot that automatically understands the context of whatever appears on your screen. This eliminates the tedious process of copying and pasting text or dragging files into separate ChatGPT windows – a workflow improvement that many power users will likely appreciate.
Adam Fry, OpenAI's Product Lead, revealed that ChatGPT Atlas includes sophisticated "browser history" capabilities, allowing ChatGPT to track visited websites and user activities to deliver increasingly personalized responses. This feature raises both exciting possibilities for customization and potential privacy considerations for users.
The browser also introduces an "agent mode" that attempts to automate web-based tasks on users' behalf. However, this feature is reserved for premium subscribers on ChatGPT's Plus, Pro, and Business tiers. While promising in concept, early testing of similar AI agents from other companies suggests that current technology still struggles with complex automation tasks, though simple operations work reasonably well.
Nick Turley, Head of ChatGPT, draws parallels between browsers and operating systems, noting how browsers have fundamentally transformed online productivity. He believes ChatGPT represents a similar paradigm shift in how people interact with digital information and complete tasks online.
The success of ChatGPT Atlas remains uncertain, particularly given Chrome's entrenched position and massive global user base. While AI-powered browsers generate significant excitement in Silicon Valley tech circles, their real-world impact beyond early adopters and tech enthusiasts is still limited.
This launch represents more than just another browser release – it's OpenAI's strategic play to position itself as a comprehensive platform for AI-powered productivity, potentially reducing users' dependence on Google's ecosystem. Whether Atlas can capture meaningful market share will depend on its ability to deliver genuinely superior user experiences that justify switching from established browsers.
As the AI browser wars intensify, users stand to benefit from increased innovation and competition, though the ultimate winner in this emerging market remains to be determined.

Anthropic CEO defends company against Trump administration's AI fear-mongering accusations
Anthropic CEO claps back after Trump officials accuse firm of AI fear-mongering

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published a statement defending his company against accusations from Trump administration officials, including AI czar David Sacks, who claimed the firm uses fear-mongering for regulatory capture.
The controversy began when Anthropic supported California's AI safety bill SB 53 and opposed a 10-year ban on state AI regulation. Amodei emphasized that Anthropic collaborates with the federal government, including a $200 million Defense Department agreement, while maintaining responsible AI development practices and supporting thousands of startups using their Claude AI system.

a16z-backed Codi launches AI agent office manager

Codi transforms from office marketplace to AI-powered office management platform.
Codi, an Andreessen Horowitz-backed startup founded by Christelle Rohaut and Dave Schuman, has launched what it claims is the first AI-powered platform to fully automate office management. The company has pivoted dramatically from its original 2018 model as a marketplace connecting companies with flexible office spaces.
CEO Christelle Rohaut explained that her team previously managed office spaces and vendors manually for clients, but recent AI advancements have enabled them to automate these processes entirely. "The previous model of Codi, you had to get the space with Codi. Now, whatever office you lease, you can use this to automate your office logistics," she said.
After releasing a beta version in May, Codi officially launched its new AI SaaS product on Tuesday. The startup has raised $23 million to date, including a $16 million Series A led by a16z in 2022. The timing aligns with corporate America's return-to-office trend, addressing what Rohaut describes as a "very manual and broken" office management system that costs companies at least $80,000 annually in administrative expenses.
The AI system, trained on Codi's accumulated expertise and data, coordinates office needs like pantry restocking and cleaning by integrating with existing vendor networks. The platform reached $100,000 in annual recurring revenue just five weeks after its beta launch, signing 40 new companies including TaskRabbit and Northbeam.
Rohaut positions Codi against legacy management companies and workplace platforms like Envoy, emphasizing that their solution provides autonomous execution rather than just coordination tools. The subscription-based model costs "a fraction of the cost of an office manager or part-time office manager," while saving hundreds of administrative hours annually.
"Codi is building the future where offices can run themselves, just like cars can drive themselves," Rohaut said, aiming to remove logistical burdens so human talent can focus on workplace culture and growth.
