Good morning ☀️, leader of the next generation.
Sometimes we give technology too much credit or too much blame.

The truth is, it’s a tool. How we use it is what matters.

Used with purpose, it helps us see more clearly, build faster, and express ourselves in new ways.

It’s not about chasing trends. It’s about creating something real.

Nvidia breaks historic $5 trillion market cap milestone amid AI surge
Nvidia becomes first public company worth $5 trillion

In an unprecedented achievement for any publicly traded company, Nvidia has shattered market expectations by becoming the first corporation to reach a $5 trillion market capitalization. The chip giant's remarkable ascent reflects the explosive growth in artificial intelligence demand that continues to reshape the global technology landscape.
Wednesday's trading session saw Nvidia shares climb over 5.6% to reach $212.19, driven by significant political and business developments. The surge followed news that President Donald Trump expects to discuss the company's highly anticipated Blackwell chips during talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday, signaling the geopolitical importance of advanced semiconductor technology.
CEO Jensen Huang's bold projections have further energized investors. Speaking on Tuesday, Huang outlined ambitious expectations for $500 billion in AI chip sales while announcing plans to construct seven new supercomputers across the United States. These facilities will focus on critical sectors including security, energy, and scientific research, requiring thousands of Nvidia's specialized graphics processing units (GPUs).
The company's strategic expansion extends beyond traditional computing. Nvidia revealed a substantial $1 billion investment in Nokia, aimed at leveraging the telecommunications giant's expertise to enable communication service providers to launch AI-native 5G-Advanced and 6G networks on Nvidia platforms. This move demonstrates the company's commitment to integrating AI capabilities across multiple industries.
This historic milestone represents extraordinary momentum for the Santa Clara-based company, which crossed the $4 trillion threshold just three months ago. Nvidia's stock has surged more than 50% year-to-date, reflecting seemingly unlimited appetite for its specialized hardware that powers the AI revolution.
The company's GPUs have become the backbone of modern artificial intelligence infrastructure. Data centers worldwide rely on these processors for training large language models, running inference operations, and supporting the computational demands of next-generation AI applications. Nvidia's strategic positioning has created a scenario where demand consistently outstrips supply, maintaining premium pricing and profit margins.
The broader technology sector has experienced remarkable growth as investors recognize AI's transformative potential. Similar to how the internet revolutionized business operations decades ago, artificial intelligence is expected to fundamentally reshape industries across the global economy. This optimism has fueled a wave of multibillion-dollar investments in data center infrastructure and AI development.
Among Nvidia's most significant partnerships is its commitment to invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI over the coming years. Announced in September, this collaboration aims to deploy 10 gigawatts worth of Nvidia systems to power OpenAI's expanding AI operations, demonstrating the scale of investment required to support cutting-edge AI development.
To put Nvidia's $5 trillion valuation in perspective, the company now exceeds the combined market capitalization of entire stock markets worldwide, excluding only the United States, China, and Japan. This achievement underscores not just Nvidia's individual success, but the broader economic impact of the AI revolution currently transforming global markets.

Phia's founders on how AI is changing online shopping

Stanford roommates built AI startup to revolutionize online shopping experience.
When Stanford roommates Phoebe Gates and Sophia Kianni set out to build an AI startup, they focused on solving a problem they knew intimately: the challenge of online shopping. Having spent countless hours searching for the perfect wardrobe additions, they recognized AI's potential to transform how people discover, shop, and purchase items.
"There felt like there was this giant white space for, like, what should we actually buy, and why doesn't everyone have a personal shopper in their pocket?" Gates explained at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025.
What began as a class project has evolved into Phia, a comprehensive shopping tool available as both a browser extension and mobile app. The platform excels at price comparison, including second-hand items, adding a crucial sustainability dimension to the shopping experience.
Phia integrates with over 150 second-hand platforms and maintains a database of more than 350 million items. Kianni emphasizes the environmental impact, noting that buying second-hand reduces carbon footprint by 80% compared to purchasing new items, while also being more affordable.
The platform helps users understand item values beyond initial purchase prices. "If you're looking at a $500 handbag on Phia, you can quickly understand, can you resell that item for $300 or $400?" Kianni explained, contrasting this with fast-fashion pieces that might lose 90% of their value immediately.
Currently in development is an AI shopping advisor that will provide insights on deals, retained value, and sizing recommendations based on users' previous orders and returns. The sizing feature is currently in beta testing with select users.
The founders have employed creative marketing strategies, including an ambassador program, content creation about their development journey, and launching a podcast. These tactics have helped them acquire hundreds of thousands of downloads cost-effectively while building authentic connections with their audience through transparent storytelling about the startup experience.
