Good morning ☀️, leader of the next generation.
I believe this: Technology, when used with intention, doesn’t distract us — it awakens us.
It shows us who we are. What we can build. How far we can go.
It strips away the noise and gives us tools that let our natural genius come through.
That we stop waiting for the world to hand us permission — and we start using the tools already in our hands to create, to express, to become.
This is not about keeping up.
It’s about breaking through.

Gaming platform spins off AI lab with $134M funding
General Intuition lands $134M seed to teach agents spatial reasoning using video game clips

Medal, a popular platform for sharing gaming clips, has launched General Intuition, a frontier AI research lab that secured an impressive $133.7 million in seed funding. The startup aims to revolutionize artificial intelligence by teaching agents spatial-temporal reasoning using its vast collection of gaming videos.
General Intuition leverages Medal's extensive dataset of 2 billion videos annually from 10 million monthly users across thousands of games. This treasure trove of gaming content provides a unique advantage over traditional platforms like Twitch or YouTube for training AI agents.
"When you play video games, you essentially transfer your perception, usually through a first-person view of the camera, to different environments," explains Pim de Witte, CEO of both Medal and General Intuition. The platform's users tend to upload highly engaging clips showcasing exceptional moments, creating valuable edge cases perfect for AI training.
This data advantage reportedly caught OpenAI's attention, with The Information reporting that the tech giant attempted to acquire Medal for $500 million last year. Neither company commented on these acquisition rumors.
The substantial seed round was led by Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst, with participation from Raine. The funding will expand the team of researchers and engineers working on developing general-purpose agents capable of interacting with their environment.
General Intuition's approach focuses on visual learning, where agents see only what human players would see and navigate through controller inputs. This methodology can naturally transfer to physical systems like robotic arms, drones, and autonomous vehicles, which are commonly controlled using game-style interfaces.
The company has already achieved significant milestones, with their models demonstrating the ability to understand new environments and predict appropriate actions within them. Their next goals include generating simulated training worlds and enabling autonomous navigation in unfamiliar physical spaces.
Unlike competitors such as DeepMind and World Labs, which sell their world models for training and content creation, General Intuition takes a different commercial approach to avoid copyright complications. "Our goal is not to produce models that compete with game developers," de Witte clarifies.
Instead, the startup focuses on creating intelligent bots and non-player characters that surpass traditional preprogrammed alternatives. These AI-driven characters can dynamically adjust difficulty levels, potentially maintaining player engagement by keeping win rates around 50%.
"It's not compelling to create a god bot that beats everyone," notes Moritz Baier-Lentz, founding member and Lightspeed Ventures partner. "But if you can scale gradually and fill in liquidity for any player situation, that will maximize engagement and retention."
Beyond gaming applications, General Intuition targets search-and-rescue drone operations, drawing from de Witte's humanitarian background. These drones often navigate unfamiliar terrain without GPS, making spatial reasoning capabilities crucial for successful missions.
The founders position spatial-temporal reasoning as a fundamental component in achieving artificial general intelligence (AGI). While major AI labs concentrate on developing increasingly powerful large language models, General Intuition believes true AGI requires capabilities that traditional LLMs inherently lack.
"As humans, we create text to describe what's going on in our world, but in doing so, you lose a lot of information," de Witte explains. "You lose general intuition around spatial-temporal reasoning."
With this substantial funding and unique data advantage, General Intuition positions itself as a key player in developing AI systems that can truly understand and navigate the physical world, potentially bridging the gap between virtual gaming environments and real-world applications.

Apple's AI team exodus continues with Meta departure
Apple loses another AI exec to Meta

Ke Yang, Apple's AI-driven web search executive, is joining Meta, marking another significant departure from Apple's struggling AI unit. Yang recently led the team responsible for enhancing Siri's web search capabilities to compete with OpenAI, Google, and Perplexity ahead of March's anticipated Siri revamp.
This follows a broader exodus from Apple's AIML team, including former AI models head Ruoming Pang and roughly a dozen other members who joined Meta's Superintelligence Labs. Apple's remaining team expects more departures in coming months.

If you're still using ChatGPT like a search bar — you're getting left behind.
⚡ Trends for the Future
Kayak launches an 'AI Mode' for travel questions, search, and bookings

Kayak integrates AI chatbot for travel research and booking assistance.
Travel search engine Kayak has introduced a new "AI Mode" feature that allows users to research trips using artificial intelligence before making bookings. The feature integrates an AI chatbot directly into Kayak's website, enabling users to ask travel-related questions and compare flights, hotels, and rental cars through conversational interactions.
Available on both desktop and mobile web platforms, AI Mode leverages Kayak's integration with ChatGPT to deliver contextual search results. This launch builds upon the company's earlier experiment with Kayak.ai, which served as a testing ground for AI technology before bringing these capabilities to the main Kayak.com platform.
The AI chatbot can handle various travel queries, from finding destinations within specific price ranges to comparing hotel amenities and locating nonstop flights. Users can also ask open-ended questions like "I want to party for NYE — where should I go?" to receive personalized recommendations without having predetermined destinations in mind.
This feature particularly benefits travelers in the early planning stages who are exploring ideas rather than booking specific trips. However, it remains unclear whether AI-assisted users will convert to paying customers at the same rate as traditional search users.
Initially launching in English for U.S. users, AI Mode will expand to other countries and languages later this month. Kayak also plans to introduce voice-based request support and extend the feature to additional platforms soon.
The travel industry is experiencing significant AI adoption, with companies seeking to improve the often frustrating online booking experience. While OpenAI has partnered with travel companies like Expedia and Booking.com to operate as apps within ChatGPT, Kayak's approach of hosting the AI chatbot on its own platform may provide more direct access to consumer insights and behavior data.
