Good morning ☀️, leader of the next generation.

Sometimes we give technology too much credit or too much blame.

The truth is, it’s a tool. How we use it is what matters.

Used with purpose, it helps us see more clearly, build faster, and express ourselves in new ways.

It’s not about chasing trends. It’s about creating something real.

Swedish AI startup triples valuation to $6.6B in five months

Vibe-coding startup Lovable raises $330M at a $6.6B valuation

title image

Stockholm-based AI coding startup Lovable has achieved remarkable growth, securing $330 million in Series B funding at a $6.6 billion valuation - more than tripling its worth in just five months. The round was co-led by CapitalG and Menlo Ventures, with participation from Khosla Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and Databricks Ventures.

This latest funding milestone comes shortly after Lovable's $200 million Series A round in July, which valued the company at $1.8 billion. The dramatic valuation increase reflects the intense investor interest in AI-powered development tools and the company's explosive growth trajectory.

Lovable has positioned itself at the forefront of the "vibe-coding" revolution, offering a platform that enables users to build complete applications using simple text prompts. This approach democratizes software development by allowing non-programmers to create functional apps through natural language instructions rather than traditional coding.

The company's growth metrics are particularly impressive. Since launching in 2024, Lovable reached $100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) within just eight months - a milestone that typically takes years for most startups. Four months later, the company doubled this figure, surpassing $200 million ARR.

Major enterprise clients including Klarna, Uber, and Zendesk have adopted Lovable's platform, validating its commercial appeal. The startup reports that over 100,000 new projects are created daily on its platform, with more than 25 million projects developed during its first year of operation.

CEO and co-founder Anton Osika has attributed much of the company's success to his decision to keep Lovable based in Stockholm rather than relocating to Silicon Valley, despite pressure from investors. Speaking at the Slush conference in Helsinki, Osika emphasized the advantages of building in Europe: "I can sit here now and say, 'Look, guys, you can build a global AI company from this country.' There is more available talent if you have a strong mission."

The new funding will fuel Lovable's expansion plans, including deeper integrations with third-party applications, enhanced enterprise features, and platform infrastructure development. The company aims to provide comprehensive tools for building full-scale applications, including databases, payment systems, and hosting capabilities.

However, Lovable faced some scrutiny in November when it was revealed the company hadn't been paying VAT, a required tax in the European Union. Osika addressed the issue publicly on LinkedIn, confirming the oversight and committing to resolve it while defending Europe as a viable location for high-growth startups.

The vibe-coding sector continues attracting significant venture capital investment. Competitor Cursor recently raised $2.3 billion at a $29.3 billion valuation in November, demonstrating the market's appetite for AI-powered development tools. Like Lovable, Cursor completed two funding rounds in 2024, doubling its valuation between June and November.

Lovable's rapid ascent reflects broader trends in AI adoption and the growing demand for tools that simplify software development. As businesses increasingly seek to digitize operations and create custom applications, platforms enabling non-technical users to build software are becoming increasingly valuable.

Luma unveils Ray3 Modify for controllable AI video generation

Luma releases a new AI model that lets users generate a video from a start and end frame

AI video company Luma launched Ray3 Modify, a new model enabling users to transform existing footage while preserving original human performances. The technology allows character transformations using reference images and generates transitional videos from start and end frames.

The model maintains actors' motion, timing, and emotional delivery while changing scenes, costumes, or locations. Available through Luma's Dream Machine platform, Ray3 Modify addresses creative studios' needs for controllable AI video generation. The release follows Luma's recent $900 million funding round led by Saudi Arabia's Humain.

Pickle Robot adds Tesla veteran as first CFO

Warehouse robotics company hires Tesla veteran amid major UPS deal.

Pickle Robot, a specialist in autonomous warehouse unloading technology, has appointed Tesla veteran Jeff Evanson as its first chief financial officer. The announcement comes just days after reports emerged of a significant partnership expansion with logistics giant UPS.

The Charlestown, Massachusetts-based company revealed that Evanson, who had been providing consulting services since September, has now joined the organization full-time. His appointment marks a significant milestone for the robotics company as it scales its operations.

Evanson brings substantial experience from his tenure at Tesla, where he served as vice president of global investor relations and strategy from 2011 to 2017. During his time at the electric vehicle manufacturer, he worked closely with CEO Elon Musk and played a crucial role in securing debt and equity financing that supported the launch of multiple Tesla vehicle lines and various company acquisitions.

The timing of Evanson's appointment coincides with Pickle Robot's reported major deal with UPS. According to Bloomberg, the shipping giant is investing $120 million to purchase 400 of Pickle's autonomous robots. The deployment of these units is scheduled to begin in late 2026 and continue into early 2027.

Founded in 2018, Pickle Robot has successfully raised approximately $100 million in venture capital funding to develop its warehouse automation solutions. The company's robots are designed to streamline operations in warehouses and distribution centers by automating the unloading process.

While Pickle Robot declined to provide specific details about the UPS deal, a company spokesperson confirmed that UPS has been a customer for several years, though they would not specify when the partnership initially began. This existing relationship appears to have laid the groundwork for the substantial expansion now reportedly underway.

The addition of Evanson as CFO signals Pickle Robot's preparation for its next growth phase, particularly as it prepares to fulfill large-scale deployments like the UPS partnership.
