Leadership lessons from a record year of purpose-led growth

After 37 years in business, 2025 was a record-breaking year for Intrepid Travel. Revenue grew nearly 30%, with the company on track to hit $1bn in bookings in 2026.

But behind the numbers, the year pushed the leadership team to rethink priorities and make some hard calls — including a major reset to its climate strategy.

How they navigated that, what changed, and what they learned is all in the newly released Integrated Annual Report.

Good morning ☀️, leader of the next generation.

We will talk about agents. AI agents.

They will change the way how we do business, how we interract and even how we do our everyday lives.

Agents will build business.

Agents will organize your day.

Agents will fill up your fridge.

I will let that sit in here for a while, so we can imagine and build the future together one agent at a time...

Intel partners with Musk's companies for ambitious Texas chip factory

Intel signs on to Elon Musk's Terafab chips project

Intel has officially joined forces with Elon Musk's SpaceX and Tesla in an ambitious venture to construct a cutting-edge semiconductor manufacturing facility in Texas, marking a significant development in the American chip manufacturing landscape.

The collaboration centers around the Terafab project, which aims to produce an unprecedented 1 terawatt per year of computing power. According to Intel's announcement on X, the company will leverage its expertise in designing, fabricating, and packaging ultra-high-performance chips at scale to accelerate the project's ambitious goals for AI and robotics applications.

The partnership addresses a critical gap in Musk's original vision announced in March. While SpaceX and Tesla bring innovative engineering approaches and substantial demand for specialized chips, neither company possesses the deep semiconductor manufacturing expertise required for such a complex undertaking. The project's scope encompasses chips for AI computing, satellite technology, SpaceX's proposed space data centers, and potential autonomous vehicle and robotics applications.

Building a semiconductor fabrication facility represents one of the most challenging and capital-intensive projects in the technology sector. These facilities typically require several years of development and investments exceeding $20 billion. The process involves constructing massive clean rooms housing thousands of ultra-precise machines capable of etching increasingly miniaturized circuits onto silicon wafers.

For Intel, this partnership represents a strategic opportunity to revitalize its foundry business by securing two major anchor customers. The company, once America's undisputed leader in silicon production, has faced intensifying competition from rivals like Nvidia and AMD. These competitors have successfully adopted "fabless" business models, focusing on chip design while outsourcing manufacturing to specialized foundries.

The market responded positively to the announcement, with Intel's stock price climbing more than 3% following the news. By 2 p.m. ET, shares were trading at $52.28, representing a 2.9% increase from the opening bell price, reflecting investor confidence in the partnership's potential.

However, the collaboration may disappoint some investors who anticipated a more revolutionary approach to semiconductor manufacturing. Initial expectations suggested that SpaceX and Tesla's unique engineering methodologies might translate into groundbreaking fabrication techniques. With Intel's involvement, the project may follow more conventional industry practices rather than pioneering entirely new approaches.

The Terafab initiative represents more than just another manufacturing facility; it symbolizes America's efforts to strengthen domestic semiconductor production capabilities. As global supply chain vulnerabilities have become increasingly apparent, particularly during recent disruptions, the importance of domestic chip manufacturing has gained renewed attention from both industry leaders and policymakers.

Despite the significance of the announcement, details about the partnership remain limited. Intel has provided minimal information beyond its initial X post, declining to offer additional comments when contacted. SpaceX similarly remained silent on partnership specifics, leaving many questions about timeline, investment levels, and operational structure unanswered.

The collaboration brings together three distinctly different corporate cultures and expertise areas. Intel contributes decades of semiconductor manufacturing experience, while SpaceX offers aerospace engineering innovation and Tesla provides automotive technology insights. This convergence of capabilities could potentially accelerate development timelines and reduce typical project risks.

As the project moves forward, industry observers will closely monitor how these companies integrate their different approaches to engineering and manufacturing. Success could establish a new model for large-scale technology collaborations, while challenges might highlight the complexities of merging diverse corporate methodologies in highly specialized manufacturing environments.

YouTube has expanded its Media Kit with new demographic insights, including "Family Status" and "Household Income" data to help creators secure better brand partnerships. These additions complement existing metrics like subscriber counts and posting frequency.

The platform also integrated Google's AI-powered image generation tools into its YouTube Create app, allowing users to generate content using text prompts and reference images. However, concerns arise about whether these AI tools enhance creativity or replace genuine creative expression with automated content generation.

Google Maps can now write captions for your photos using AI

Google introduces Gemini AI to automatically generate captions for Maps photos.

Google has announced new features designed to streamline how users contribute local knowledge to Google Maps, with the most significant addition being Gemini AI's ability to automatically generate captions for photos and videos.

When users select images to share about a location, Gemini will analyze the content and create appropriate captions automatically. Users maintain full control over these suggestions, with the option to edit or completely remove the AI-generated text. This feature aims to provide users with a helpful starting point when sharing visual content with the Maps community.

The caption suggestion feature is currently available in English for iOS users in the United States, with Google planning to expand the service globally and to Android devices in the coming months.

Google is also improving the photo-sharing experience by making relevant images easier to find. Users who enable media access for Google Maps in their device settings will see photos and videos from recent experiences directly within the "Contribute" tab, allowing them to quickly select and post relevant content with a simple tap.

These photo and video recommendations are now available worldwide on both iOS and Android platforms. Google emphasizes that user-contributed visual content helps others understand a location's atmosphere and current offerings, such as menu updates or overall ambiance.

The company has also enhanced its contributor recognition system. Users can now view their total earned points directly in the "Contribute" tab, while Local Guide levels are prominently displayed on profile pages. Google has redesigned achievement badges to better showcase contributor expertise, whether someone is an "expert fact-finder," "master photographer," or "rising novice." High-level contributors now receive special recognition through gold-colored profiles.

These improvements support Google Maps' community of over 500 million contributors who regularly share photos, reviews, and videos. Since Maps relies heavily on this user-generated content to maintain current and accurate information, streamlining the contribution process benefits both the platform and its users.
