Good morning ☀️, leader of the next generation.

We will talk about agents. AI agents.

They will change the way how we do business, how we interract and even how we do our everyday lives.

Agents will build business.

Agents will organize your day.

Agents will fill up your fridge.

I will let that sit in here for a while, so we can imagine and build the future together one agent at a time...

Google says it fixed more Chrome bugs in June than over the past two years, thanks to AI

Google has revealed that, with the help of its internal AI tools, it patched more security vulnerabilities in its Chrome browser during a single month than it had in the previous two years combined. The announcement was made as part of a white paper detailing how the company is using artificial intelligence to identify and fix flaws faster than ever before.

Specifically, Google fixed 1,072 security bugs across the two versions of Chrome released in June — Chrome 149 and Chrome 150. That figure surpasses the 1,036 bugs patched across the previous 23 versions released over roughly the last two years. A chart included in Google's white paper illustrates the dramatic, exponential nature of this increase.

Doug Turner, Chrome's director of engineering, said that large language models have "fundamentally shifted the economics of cybersecurity, transforming vulnerability discovery into an automated, industrial-scale operation." He added that by applying models like Gemini, Google is "preemptively fixing vulnerabilities, outpacing our adversaries and making Chrome safer with every update."

This development comes as little surprise to cybersecurity experts, who have long warned that AI-powered systems would dramatically accelerate the pace of bug discovery — forcing defenders to adopt AI themselves to keep up with potential attackers. That prediction now appears to be materialising, backed by hard numbers.

Google is not alone in this trend. Earlier in July, Microsoft reported a record 570 security fixes across its product lines as part of its monthly Patch Tuesday update cycle. Like Google, Microsoft attributed the spike to its own use of AI in identifying vulnerabilities.

Apple, however, does not appear to be experiencing the same surge. Independent tracking shows Apple has patched around 482 bugs so far in 2026 — a pace roughly consistent with previous years, including as far back as 2015. This suggests that, unlike Google and Microsoft, Apple has yet to see — or at least report — a similar AI-driven acceleration in its security patching efforts. TechCrunch reached out to Apple for comment but received no response.

Okta company lobby entrance

Okta has agreed to acquire Permiso Security, an AI identity security startup, for just under $200 million in an almost entirely cash deal. The acquisition is expected to close in the third quarter of Okta's fiscal 2027.

Founded in 2022 by former FireEye executives, Permiso helps security teams detect suspicious activity in cloud environments and monitor AI agents and other machine identities. Its SandyClaw platform analyses AI agent behavior in a sandboxed environment before deployment.

The deal strengthens Okta's push to secure non-human identities as enterprises increasingly embed autonomous AI into their operations. Permiso had raised around $29 million in total funding, with its last round valuing the startup at approximately $80 million.

Mark Zuckerberg predicts that billions of people will have personal AI agents in five years

Zuckerberg envisions billions using personal AI agents within five years.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg used the company's latest quarterly earnings call to make a bold prediction: within five years, billions of people will have personal AI agents working on their behalf around the clock. He described these agents as systems capable of understanding individual goals and helping users manage everything from finances and health to relationships and household tasks.

Zuckerberg pointed to WhatsApp as the leading platform where users already interact with Meta AI, and said that Meta's messaging surfaces will become increasingly central as the world shifts toward multi-agent interactions. More than one million businesses have already adopted Meta's business agents on WhatsApp and Messenger since their global rollout this quarter — a starting point, though far short of the billions Zuckerberg envisions for consumers.

Meta is not alone in chasing the agentic AI opportunity. Google has pushed custom AI agents as a headline feature in its Search overhaul, while Anthropic has seen surging subscriptions driven by enthusiasm for its coding-focused Claude Code assistant. Zuckerberg believes Meta's agents will form "the foundation for our next wave of products and revenue lines," and sees stronger margins in selling intelligence than in selling raw compute — though he acknowledged opportunity in both.

Investors, however, remain cautious. Meta's stock fell nearly 10% after the earnings release. Reality Labs, the division behind Meta's AR and VR hardware, lost another $4.6 billion this quarter, bringing its cumulative losses since 2021 to roughly $88 billion. Free cash flow plunged 91% year over year to $784 million, weighed down by heavy AI infrastructure spending — including a newly announced $14 billion data center partnership with BlackRock in El Paso, Texas. Whether Zuckerberg's AI ambitions will justify the mounting costs remains the central question for Meta's future.
