HUB Aerospace & Robotics Summer Camp 2026

In the next 5 years, AI is expected to reshape nearly every industry on the planet. The World Economic Forum projects 92 million jobs will be displaced by 2030 — while 170 million new ones will be created. The kids who win that shift won't be the ones who avoided technology. They'll be the ones who learned to build with it.

That's why this summer matters.

The HUB's 2026 Aerospace & Robotics Summer Camp gives students ages 12–18 hands-on experience with the skills that will actually be in demand — AI, robotics, drone simulation, space technology, and entrepreneurship. Not theory. Not screens. Real projects, real teamwork, real confidence.

No fee. No problem. We will give you a call to see if you’re the right fit.

OpenAI's new Lockdown Mode shields sensitive data from hidden malicious instructions.

OpenAI unveils Lockdown Mode to protect sensitive data from prompt injection attacks

OpenAI has introduced a new security feature called Lockdown Mode, designed to offer stronger protection against prompt injection attacks — a type of threat where malicious instructions are secretly embedded within webpages or other content that ChatGPT might access.

When Lockdown Mode is enabled, several of ChatGPT's features are restricted. Live web browsing is turned off, meaning the chatbot can only pull from cached content rather than accessing real-time information. The retrieval and display of images from the web is also disabled, though users can still generate images. Additionally, deep research capabilities and agent mode are both switched off while the mode is active.

OpenAI has been transparent about the fact that Lockdown Mode does not offer complete protection. Even with the feature enabled, ChatGPT could still be susceptible to prompt injection attacks. As the company notes, malicious instructions could still "appear in cached web content or in an uploaded file, and could still affect the behavior or accuracy of a response." The primary aim, however, is to significantly reduce the chances of sensitive data being exposed or exfiltrated during an interaction.

OpenAI has made clear that this feature isn't meant for everyday users. "Lockdown Mode is not intended for everyone," the company states. "It is designed for people and organizations that handle sensitive data and want stricter protection from data exfiltration risks related to prompt injection." This positions it as a tool primarily aimed at businesses, legal professionals, healthcare providers, and others who regularly work with confidential information.

The rollout is currently underway for self-serve ChatGPT Business accounts, as well as eligible personal accounts. OpenAI has not yet detailed a broader release timeline.

Trump eyes equity deal with OpenAI to benefit the American public.

The Trump administration might take an equity stake in OpenAI

President Trump has indicated he's in talks with AI companies about deals that would let the American public share in AI's success. Reports suggest the Trump administration is discussing taking an equity stake in OpenAI, with some shares potentially seeding a "Public Wealth Fund."

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has reportedly been exploring the idea since early 2025. Senator Bernie Sanders has proposed a similar concept — a one-time 50% stock tax on major AI firms — to give the public a direct role in shaping AI's future and its potential trillion-dollar gains.

⚡ Trends for the Future

Is this the dawn of the Tokenpocalypse?

AI pricing shifts signal a reckoning for companies and consumers alike.

Microsoft's recent pricing overhaul for GitHub Copilot has sent ripples through the tech world — dramatic enough that one Reddit user coined the term "Tokenpocalypse" to describe it. The move signals a broader shift: the era of heavily subsidized AI tools may be coming to an end, and the true costs are starting to find their way to end users and businesses.

On TechCrunch's Equity podcast, hosts Anthony Ha, Sean O'Kane, and Kirsten Korosec dug into what this means for the AI industry at large. With major players like Anthropic eyeing IPOs, the pressure to demonstrate profitability is mounting — and that means price hikes and usage restrictions could become the new normal across the sector.

Sean O'Kane pointed to Uber as a cautionary example, noting the company burned through its AI budget far faster than anticipated and quickly moved to cap employee usage. The core question, he argued, is whether AI labs can drive down infrastructure costs fast enough to meet what customers are actually willing to pay. Even ChatGPT's original $20-a-month price tag, he noted, was never really grounded in the true cost of delivering the service.

Kirsten Korosec highlighted just how rapidly the landscape is shifting. The concept of "tokenmaxxxing" — maximizing AI token usage — went from trendy to toxic in under six months. That pace of change raises a thorny question for companies preparing IPO filings: how do you accurately disclose risks that are evolving faster than you can write them down?

Anthony Ha drew a parallel to Uber's long road to profitability, arguing that AI companies will likely need to undergo similarly uncomfortable transformations — squeezing margins, expanding into new business lines, and restructuring how they serve customers — before they can stand on solid financial ground. The AI boom is real, but so is the bill. And it's becoming increasingly clear that someone has to pay it.
