Apple just secretly added Starlink satellite support to iPhones through iOS 18.3.

One of the biggest potential winners? Mode Mobile.

Mode’s EarnPhone already reaches 490M+ users that have earned over $1B, and that’s before global satellite coverage. With SpaceX eliminating "dead zones," Mode's earning technology can now reach billions more in unbanked and rural populations worldwide.

Their global expansion is perfectly timed, and investors like you still have a chance to invest in their pre-IPO offering at $0.52/share.

With their recent 32,481% revenue growth and newly reserved Nasdaq ticker, Mode is one step closer to a potential IPO.

Good morning ☀️, leader of the next generation.

We will talk about agents. AI agents.

They will change the way how we do business, how we interract and even how we do our everyday lives.

Agents will build business.

Agents will organize your day.

Agents will fill up your fridge.

I will let that sit in here for a while, so we can imagine and build the future together one agent at a time...

Anthropic strikes $10B compute deal with new AI cloud provider Volta.

Anthropic signs $10B deal with AI cloud startup Volta

Anthropic has agreed to a reported $10 billion cloud computing deal with Volta, a newly founded AI cloud startup, according to a report from Bloomberg. The agreement will see Volta supply cloud compute resources to Anthropic, the maker of the Claude AI assistant, over a six-year period.

Volta, which was only established earlier this year, will not be building out this infrastructure alone. The startup has partnered with Bitdeer, a cryptocurrency mining company, to co-develop the data center that will underpin the deal. The facility is set to be located in Norway and will deliver a substantial 133 megawatt capacity. Powering it all will be Nvidia's Vera Rubin systems — the chipmaker's latest and most advanced AI chip architecture.

Volta is a member of Nvidia's Cloud Partner program, a consortium of AI cloud providers that operate data centers built around Nvidia's GPUs. Prior to Bloomberg's report, Volta had publicly acknowledged it was in discussions with a major AI laboratory but had declined to identify the company by name. Bloomberg's story relied on anonymous sources with knowledge of the agreement. TechCrunch subsequently reached out to Anthropic for official comment.

The Volta deal is the latest in a series of aggressive moves by Anthropic to expand its computing capacity as competition among leading AI companies intensifies. The San Francisco-based firm has recently announced separate compute partnerships with both SpaceX and Amazon, signaling a clear strategy to secure the infrastructure it needs to keep pace with rivals in an increasingly resource-driven AI race.

SpaceX has spent $329M on Tesla Megapacks in 2026, highlighting Musk's empire.

Tesla Megapack battery storage units at an industrial facility

SpaceX has spent $329 million on Tesla Megapacks so far in 2026, including $295 million in Q2 alone, according to its latest earnings report. The spending underscores the tight ties between Elon Musk's companies — he leads both SpaceX and Tesla, while SpaceX now owns xAI, which in turn absorbed social media platform X in 2025.

The industrial-scale batteries are likely headed to xAI data centers. Before the merger, xAI had already purchased $430 million worth of Megapacks for its facilities. SpaceX also disclosed it had acquired $131 million in Tesla Cybertrucks as of December 2025.

Megapacks play a critical role in data centers by providing instant backup power and smoothing out the sharp fluctuations in energy demand caused by AI workloads. This helps reduce utility costs and keeps operations running reliably.

AI makes weather prediction better. Can WindBorne make it lucrative?

WindBorne raises $37M to turn AI-powered weather forecasts into private-sector revenue.

WindBorne Systems, a startup that gathers atmospheric data using the world's longest-flying weather balloons, has raised a $37 million Series B round to expand its business beyond government clients and into the commercial sector. The round was co-led by Khosla Ventures and Galvanize, with participation from Translink Capital, Lux Capital, and existing investors, valuing the company at $250 million post-funding.

Founded in 2019, WindBorne built its foundation on low-cost balloon sensors capable of reaching difficult environments, including the eye of a typhoon. The company now operates roughly 600 balloons in the air at any given time across 20 global launch sites. It is also deploying aerial sensor packages that drop into the ocean and continue functioning as floating buoys. The rich proprietary dataset produced by this network feeds into WindBorne's own AI forecasting model alongside data from government weather agencies worldwide. CEO John Dean says balloon-sourced data has proven more valuable per data point than satellite data, and that improving forecast accuracy with balloons has been clearly demonstrated.

The rise of deep learning has been central to WindBorne's evolution. AI weather models now run on standard hardware rather than expensive supercomputers, making it feasible for private companies to produce their own forecasts for the first time. WindBorne's current government customers include the U.S. National Weather Service, the U.S. Air Force, and the U.S. Navy, the latter two through research partnerships that include developing models capable of running on ships with limited internet connectivity.

The new funding will support a push into commercial markets, starting with investment funds that use weather data to anticipate commodity prices and business outcomes. Galvanize partner Saloni Multani, who co-led the round, noted that private weather markets have historically been constrained because connecting forecasts to real business decisions was expensive and complex. She believes AI changes that, making it far easier to translate better forecasts into actionable commercial value — a shift WindBorne is now positioning itself to capitalize on.
