HUB Aerospace & Robotics Summer Camp 2026

In the next 5 years, AI is expected to reshape nearly every industry on the planet. The World Economic Forum projects 92 million jobs will be displaced by 2030 — while 170 million new ones will be created. The kids who win that shift won't be the ones who avoided technology. They'll be the ones who learned to build with it.

That's why this summer matters.

The HUB's 2026 Aerospace & Robotics Summer Camp gives students ages 12–18 hands-on experience with the skills that will actually be in demand — AI, robotics, drone simulation, space technology, and entrepreneurship. Not theory. Not screens. Real projects, real teamwork, real confidence.

No fee. No problem. We will give you a call to see if you’re the right fit.

Anthropic joins Frontier, becoming the first AI startup in the carbon removal coalition.

Anthropic becomes first AI startup to join the Frontier carbon removal coalition

Anthropic has joined Frontier, the carbon removal collective, contributing to a new $915 million funding tranche. The move makes Anthropic the first pure AI startup to become a member of the group. The new funding nearly doubles Frontier's total pledges, bringing the overall commitment to $1.8 billion. To date, Frontier has contracted nearly $700 million across more than 50 projects, aiming to remove 1.8 million tons of carbon from the atmosphere.

While Google was a founding member of Frontier, Anthropic's arrival is notable. It is the first AI company without a broader tech portfolio to sign on. This comes at a time when AI companies have been on an energy buying spree, with some of those energy purchases drawing criticism for relying on polluting power sources. Joining Frontier marks Anthropic's first climate-related deal. The company has not yet published a sustainability report and has previously stated it favors an "all of the above" approach to energy — a phrase often associated with purchasing power from less clean sources. Still, this move may signal a shift in priorities.

Frontier was founded in 2022 by tech companies including Stripe, Google, and Shopify to help them meet their climate commitments. Many of these companies want to reach zero emissions within the next decade or two, but face a challenge: some emissions, like those from air travel, cannot yet be fully eliminated. At the same time, carbon removal has long been a young and underdeveloped industry. Frontier steps in by vetting carbon removal projects and signing contracts with those it believes can deliver real results.

Carbon removal credits work similarly to financial offsets. Companies can subtract the credits from their total carbon footprint, allowing them to continue some level of emissions while still working toward net zero goals. Frontier acts as a shared resource, doing the due diligence so member companies don't have to evaluate each project individually.

With this new round of funding, Frontier is also shifting its strategy. Going forward, the organization says it will fund fewer projects but focus on those with the greatest potential — specifically, those capable of removing a gigaton, or one billion metric tons, of CO2 or more per year. New contracts will run approximately eight to ten years. Since its founding, Frontier has backed a wide range of carbon removal technologies, including direct air capture, enhanced rock weathering, bio-oil, ocean antacids, and bioenergy with carbon capture and sequestration.

This pivot from many smaller bets to fewer, larger ones mirrors a trend already visible at Microsoft, currently the largest buyer of carbon removal credits in the world.

Despite their investment in growing the carbon removal market, member companies are making clear they don't intend to fund it forever. Any new contracts signed through Frontier will require the carbon removal company to demonstrate a path toward government subsidies or support. The message is clear: the private sector is willing to help build the market, but governments will eventually need to take over.

This aligns with the position of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which has stated that carbon dioxide removal will be essential for the world to reach net zero emissions. The challenge is that neither companies nor consumers are eager to bear the long-term costs. Frontier has said it will contract projects as far out as 2040, but has not specified what happens after that. The implication is that by then, governments will hopefully have stepped in. If they haven't, and the climate continues to warm at its current pace, the consequences will extend well beyond the carbon market.

Google bets on Gemini to reinvent the smart home speaker

Google's new $99.99 Home Speaker brings Gemini AI to reinvent the smart home experience.

Google has launched its first smart speaker in nearly five years, and this time it's built around generative AI. The $99.99 Google Home Speaker is the company's first audio device designed specifically for Gemini, marking a significant departure from the more limited voice assistants that powered earlier smart speakers like the Nest Audio back in 2020.

The biggest upgrade is how naturally you can now interact with the device. Instead of carefully phrasing commands, users can speak conversationally and make multistep requests — like asking it to dim the lights, play relaxing music, and set a timer all at once. You can even correct yourself mid-sentence, and Gemini will follow along without missing a beat.

The speaker also ships with 10 new voices capable of two-way conversations that go well beyond smart home controls. Users can explore topics in depth, much like they would with Gemini on a smartphone. A "Continued Conversation" feature keeps the microphone briefly active after a response, allowing natural follow-up questions without repeating the wake word.

Physically, the device maintains Google's familiar rounded design with a 3D-knit textile finish. U.S. buyers can choose from Jade and Berry colorways, while Hazel and Porcelain are available globally. A new ring light at the base signals when the speaker is listening, thinking, or responding.

Not every feature comes free, however. Google is introducing a Home Premium subscription at $10 per month or $100 per year, which unlocks Gemini Live conversations and AI-powered summaries of Nest camera activity. To ease users in, Google will offer these premium features free for the first six months. The speaker is available for preorder now and ships later this month.
