Amazon Unveils Nova Premier, a 1M Token Model to Power Enterprise AI

Amazon’s new flagship model Nova Premier brings multimodal power and enterprise focus to Bedrock
Amazon has launched Nova Premier, its most advanced AI model to date, offering multimodal capabilities for text, image, and video inputs (but no audio). With a 1M-token context window and high performance in knowledge retrieval and visual tasks, it joins the Bedrock platform to compete with OpenAI’s GPT-4, Google’s Gemini, and Anthropic’s Claude.
While it lags behind rivals in math and reasoning benchmarks, Nova Premier shines in SimpleQA and MMMU, suggesting Amazon has tailored it for real-world business utility rather than academic performance. Notably, the model isn't optimized for deep reasoning like o4-mini or Claude 3.7.
Pricing and Strategic Focus
Priced at $2.50 per million input tokens and $12.50 per million output tokens, Nova Premier sits between Google’s Gemini Pro and OpenAI’s GPT-4 in cost. Amazon is pitching the model not just for direct use, but for distillation into smaller, more efficient systems—ideal for enterprises seeking scalable, cost-effective deployment.
Part of Amazon’s Bigger AI Play
The model is part of Amazon's broader strategy to grow its Nova family and cement Bedrock as the go-to platform for foundation models. CEO Andy Jassy reports Amazon is building over 1,000 generative AI apps internally, with triple-digit revenue growth across AI business lines.
Nova Premier gives AWS customers another high-capacity model alongside options from Anthropic, Meta, Cohere, and others—offering more choice and customization as enterprise AI adoption surges.
In the arms race of foundation models, Nova Premier may not lead in raw benchmark scores, but Amazon’s focus on integration, distillation, and practical utility could make it a sleeper hit in the business AI world.

Pinterest launches new tools to fight AI slop

Pinterest AI Labeling Update
Pinterest is introducing new tools to combat the proliferation of AI-generated content on its platform following user backlash.
The company will begin labeling AI-generated and AI-modified images with an "AI modified" tag in the bottom left corner of Pins, using both metadata analysis and proprietary classifiers to detect AI content without obvious markers.
More significantly, Pinterest plans to launch a "see fewer" option that will allow users to reduce the amount of AI content they encounter in categories particularly affected by "AI slop," such as beauty and art.
This feature, accessible through the three-dot menu on Pins, will send signals to Pinterest's recommendation systems to show users less AI-generated content.
The changes come in response to widespread complaints from Pinterest's user base about the platform being overrun with low-quality AI imagery, which many argue has degraded the overall user experience that once focused on human-created aspirational content.
Why it matters: Pinterest’s push to flag and filter generative content may influence how platforms balance AI creativity with community trust and quality control.
⚡ Build Smart Chatbots Without Coding

ChatFlow is an AI-powered chatbot platform that lets businesses easily build and manage automated customer conversations—no technical expertise required. With a drag-and-drop interface and NLP capabilities, it delivers 24/7 support across websites, WhatsApp, and Messenger.
Companies use ChatFlow to cut support costs, handle routine inquiries automatically, and boost customer satisfaction—while human agents focus on what matters most.

Visa and Mastercard Launch AI Shopping Agents to Make Purchases for You

Artificial intelligence is expanding beyond the startup ecosystem as major credit card companies embrace the technology to transform the shopping experience. Visa announced on Wednesday its new "Intelligent Commerce" initiative, designed to enable AI agents to find and make purchases on behalf of consumers based on their preselected preferences.
Jack Forestell, Visa's chief product and strategy officer, emphasized the consumer-centric approach, stating, "Each consumer sets the limits, and Visa helps manage the rest." The company is developing these AI-powered shopping experiences through collaborations with both established tech giants and emerging startups, including Anthropic, IBM, Microsoft, Mistral AI, OpenAI, Perplexity, Samsung, and Stripe.
This announcement follows Mastercard's Tuesday revelation of its own AI shopping initiative called Agent Pay. The new offering aims to enhance generative AI conversations by integrating payment capabilities with the tailored recommendations already provided on conversational platforms. Mastercard illustrated the concept with an example of a soon-to-be 30-year-old planning her birthday party, who could chat with an AI agent to curate outfits and accessories from various retailers based on her style preferences, venue considerations, and weather forecasts. The agent could then complete the purchase and recommend optimal payment methods.
Mastercard is partnering with Microsoft to scale what it calls "agentic commerce," while also working with IBM, Braintree, and Checkout.com on other aspects of AI-powered shopping solutions.
The trend toward AI-powered shopping extends beyond credit card companies. PayPal announced its own agentic commerce offering on Tuesday, while Amazon recently began testing a new AI shopping agent called "Buy for Me" with a subset of users. Other tech companies including OpenAI, Google, and Perplexity have also showcased similar agents capable of visiting websites and assisting users with purchases. Just this week, OpenAI announced updates to ChatGPT search to enhance online shopping experiences.
These developments signal a significant shift in how consumers may interact with retailers in the near future, with AI increasingly acting as an intermediary throughout the shopping journey.
