CUDIS unveils AI-powered health ring with personalized coaching features
Wearable startup CUDIS launches a new health ring line with an AI-fueled 'coach'
Wearables company CUDIS is making waves in the health technology sector with the release of its latest smart ring series, featuring an innovative AI-powered personal coach designed to revolutionize how users approach their wellness journey.
Unlike traditional fitness trackers that simply collect data, CUDIS has created a comprehensive ecosystem that goes beyond metrics to actively motivate healthy behaviors. The company's unique approach centers around a gamified points system where users earn digital "health points" for positive actions such as maintaining quality sleep, achieving daily step goals, participating in physical activities, and engaging with their AI coach.
These earned points aren't just virtual rewards β they translate into real-world value through CUDIS's integrated marketplace, where users can redeem their health achievements for discounts on supplements and wellness products. This innovative reward structure creates a tangible incentive for maintaining healthy habits.
The standout feature of the new ring is its AI Agent Coach, which harnesses generative artificial intelligence to create personalized wellness programs. The system doesn't just track health metrics β it actively provides customized daily tasks, recovery protocols, supplement suggestions, and when necessary, direct connections to licensed healthcare professionals.
The device monitors comprehensive health indicators including sleep quality, stress levels, physical movement, and recovery patterns. One particularly intriguing feature is the Pace of Aging (PoA) analysis, which helps users understand whether their biological age is accelerating or decelerating compared to their chronological age based on their lifestyle choices and health metrics.
CEO and co-founder Edison Chen shared impressive growth statistics, revealing that since launching their first wearable in 2024, CUDIS has sold over 30,000 units across two models. The company's app ecosystem has expanded dramatically, now serving 250,000 users spanning 103 countries, with particularly strong adoption in North America, Europe, and Asia.
"What we're good at is pattern recognition for healthy people trying to optimize," Chen explained. The AI system excels at identifying concerning trends such as chronic sleep issues, declining heart rate variability, or elevated resting heart rate. When these patterns emerge, the system can suggest lifestyle modifications or facilitate connections with healthcare professionals, creating what Chen describes as "the control in the escalation pathway to the right care access."
Security and privacy are central to CUDIS's approach, with the company implementing blockchain technology through the Solana network to encrypt and protect user data. This positioning as a "web3 AI wellness company" reflects their commitment to decentralized data security, though the actual effectiveness of these security measures requires independent verification.
The startup's growth trajectory received significant validation in 2024 when they secured $5 million in seed funding. The investment round was spearheaded by Draper Associates and included participation from several blockchain-focused investor groups, including Skybridge, DraperDragon, Monke Ventures, and Foresight Ventures, among others.
Looking ahead, CUDIS plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign to further expand their reach and engage with the broader consumer market. This crowdfunding approach could help the company gather additional market validation while building a community around their innovative health monitoring platform.
As the wearable technology market becomes increasingly competitive, CUDIS's combination of AI-driven coaching, blockchain security, and gamified health incentives positions them uniquely in the space. By focusing on actionable insights rather than passive data collection, they're addressing a key limitation many users experience with traditional fitness trackers β the gap between knowing your health metrics and actually improving them.
π Which AI Dilemma Should We Tackle First?
- β οΈ 1. Speed vs. Understanding The rapid pace of AI development is outpacing our ability to comprehend or regulate it.
- π§ 2. Lack of Alignment AI systems donβt necessarily optimize for whatβs good for humansβeven when they seem to.
- π’ 3. Power Concentration AI is consolidating power into the hands of a few tech giants and governments.
- π€ 4. Automation Without Purpose AI is replacing jobs faster than society is creating meaningful alternatives.
- π 5. Loss of Human Agency We risk becoming passive consumers of AI decisions, losing creativity and independent thinking.

Trace raises $3M to solve the AI agent adoption problem in enterprise
Y Combinator startup tackles enterprise AI agent deployment through workflow orchestration.
AI agents have struggled to gain traction in enterprise environments, but London-based startup Trace believes the solution lies in providing better context. The Y Combinator 2025 summer cohort company has raised $3 million in seed funding to address this challenge through workflow orchestration.
Trace's approach centers on mapping complex corporate environments and processes to give AI agents the contextual understanding they need to operate effectively. CEO Tim Cherkasov describes their role as building "the manager that knows where to put" the AI tools created by companies like OpenAI and Anthropic.
The funding round was led by Y Combinator, with participation from Zeno Ventures, Transpose Platform Management, Goodwater Capital, Formosa Capital, and WeFunder. Angel investors Benjamin Bryant and Kevin Moore also contributed to the round.
The platform works by creating a knowledge graph from existing company tools including email, Slack, and Airtable. This foundation allows users to input high-level tasks such as "design a new microsite" or "develop our 2027 sales plan," and Trace responds with detailed workflows that delegate appropriate tasks to AI agents while assigning others to human workers.
This system aims to eliminate the complex onboarding process that typically prevents companies from successfully deploying AI agents. By automating context provision, Trace removes one of the biggest barriers to enterprise AI adoption.
The competitive landscape is crowded, with Anthropic recently launching enterprise agents focused on departmental functions, and existing productivity platforms like Atlassian's Jira developing their own agent capabilities. However, CTO Artur Romanov believes their knowledge-graph approach provides a crucial advantage.
"We've moved from prompt engineering to context engineering," Romanov explains. "Whoever provides the best context at the right time is going to be the infrastructure on top of which AI-first companies will be built."
