Good morning ☀️, leader of the next generation.

Sometimes we give technology too much credit or too much blame.

The truth is, it’s a tool. How we use it is what matters.

Used with purpose, it helps us see more clearly, build faster, and express ourselves in new ways.

It’s not about chasing trends. It’s about creating something real.

6sense founder secures funding for AI sales agent startup

6sense founder Amanda Kahlow raises $30 million for new human-replacement AI sales startup 1mind

title image

Amanda Kahlow, the founder of marketing technology company 6sense, has secured $30 million in Series A funding for her new venture, 1mind, which develops AI sales agents designed to replace human sales professionals. Battery Ventures led the round, bringing the startup's total funding to $40 million.

Kahlow, who launched 6sense in 2013 as a lead-generation platform before departing in 2020, is taking a different approach with 1mind than most competitors in the crowded AI sales agent market. Instead of focusing on outbound activities like cold calling and email campaigns, 1mind's AI agent "Mindy" specializes in inbound sales processes.

"I'm not playing in outbound," Kahlow explains. Mindy handles inbound sales interactions from initial contact through deal closure, serving as a sophisticated replacement for sales engineers on enterprise calls and managing customer onboarding. The AI can participate in Zoom meetings, understand complex product specifications, and navigate competitive positioning discussions.

What sets 1mind apart is its use of deterministic AI technology, which provides guardrails to prevent the hallucinations common in other AI systems. The agent is trained on comprehensive company knowledge bases encompassing products, technical details, and market positioning. When uncertain, Mindy simply states it doesn't know rather than fabricating information.

The startup has gained impressive traction in its first year, securing contracts with over 30 companies including major names like HubSpot, LinkedIn, and New Relic. Notably, all customers have committed to annual contracts rather than experimental budgets, with average contract values reaching six figures.

Kahlow has pushed the boundaries further by creating an AI avatar of herself, which she used during fundraising pitches. Battery Ventures' Neeraj Agrawal utilized this avatar during due diligence, noting how customers engage in extended conversations, often forgetting they're interacting with AI.

The Amanda avatar remains accessible through Kahlow's LinkedIn profile, capable of discussing both 1mind's products and broader topics like women in technology, though it consistently steers conversations toward business opportunities.

Looking ahead, Kahlow envisions AI agents eventually replacing higher-level account executive roles, though she acknowledges current limitations. "We're not there yet where we're fully replacing the AE," she admits. "We're replacing the website, sales engineer, and customer success functions, but that AE-customer relationship still exists."

The primary barrier remains trust, particularly for large enterprise deals where buyers aren't yet comfortable completing transactions without human involvement. However, Kahlow anticipates a future where agent-to-agent transactions eliminate human avatars entirely, operating through direct information and requirement transfers.

Despite building technology to replace human workers, 1mind currently employs 44 people and has 71 open positions, including account executive roles. This apparent contradiction reflects the current transitional phase where human oversight remains necessary for complex sales processes.

The funding round attracted participation from Primary Ventures, Wing Venture Capital, Operator Collective, Harmonic Growth Partners, and Success Venture Partners, along with angel investors from prominent companies including Monday.com, ZoomInfo, Databricks, Box, Gong, Braze, and Verkada.

As AI sales agents proliferate across the market, 1mind's focus on inbound processes and deterministic technology positions it uniquely in a space where trust and accuracy are paramount for enterprise customers making significant purchasing decisions.

Google Maps releases new AI tools that let you create interactive projects

Google Maps introduces AI-powered tools for creating interactive map projects.

Google Maps is introducing groundbreaking AI features powered by Gemini models to help developers and users create interactive projects using Maps data and code. These new tools represent a significant step forward in making map-based applications more accessible and customizable.

The centerpiece of these updates is the builder agent, which functions similarly to other AI coding tools. Users can describe their desired interactive map-based prototype in plain text, and the tool generates the corresponding code. Examples include creating Street View tours of cities, maps visualizing real-time weather data, or listings of pet-friendly hotels in specific locations.

Once code is generated, users can export it, test previews using their own API keys, or modify projects directly in Firebase Studio. The tool also includes a styling agent that enables users to create customized maps matching specific themes or brand requirements, particularly useful for businesses needing maps with particular color coding schemes.

Google is expanding its map data grounding capabilities with Grounding Lite, a new feature that allows developers to ground their AI models using Model Context Protocol (MCP). This standard enables AI assistants to connect to external data sources and answer location-based questions like "How far is the nearest grocery store?"

The company is also introducing Contextual View, a low-code Google Maps component that provides visual understanding for user queries. This feature can display answers in various formats including lists, map views, or 3D displays, making information more accessible and interactive.

Additionally, Google has launched an MCP server toolkit that connects with Google Maps documentation, helping developers understand how to use the Google Maps API and data more effectively. On the consumer side, Google recently enabled hands-free Gemini integration with Maps for navigation and added incident alerts and speed limit data for Indian users in select areas.
